Stand-up comedy in the Vallespir, the South of France, in English? And Y Not? (coincidentally, the name of Ian's first ever comedy club, in the Y Theatre, Leicester). Inspired by the recent success of the Vallespir Comedy Club in Amélie-les-Bains, and with the encouragement of the VCC's organisers (which includes us, of course), we decided to offer English-speaking comedy fans in the Pyrénées Orientales their own event.
So who are our guest performers?
Adam Marc is a New Yorker, now resident in the P.O. We asked him to describe himself, and this is what he came up with:
"Adam Marc is a raw New Yorker that got seared in Miami before being glazed with Côte du Roussillon. Simmering with his "boules de picoulat" he decided that espressos are too small and that his destiny was to "Make Coffee Big Again"! As a Covid survivor, he is simply one rock in "The Last Wall of Truth," which just happens to be the title of his brand new comedy special."
Hannah Jones is English, and also resident in the P.O. Her path almost crossed with Ian's when she played the Leicester Comedy Festival, which he helped found. But he'd gone by then. So they met here in the Vallespir instead, and we're delighted she'll be lighting-up our comedy evening in Céret.
And then there's Ian Stephens, by trade a theatre director, who has been putting comedy events together since 1991. Don't tell him how long ago that was.
