Hamlet

In the summer of 2012, Jersey’s Samarès Players invited Ian to direct their annual outdoor Shakespeare play in the grounds of Samarès Manor. We created a production of Hamlet which was warmly received, despite the weather, and then moved indoors to the Jersey Opera House to avoid the rain

En été 2012, les Samarès Players de Jersey ont invité Ian à mettre en scène leur pièce de Shakespeare annuelle en plein air dans le parc du manoir de Samarès. Nous avons créé une production de Hamlet qui a été chaleureusement accueillie, malgré la météo, puis s’est rendue à l'intérieur, à l'Opéra de Jersey, pour éviter la pluie..


HAMLET is a play that is very much about death, suicide, killing, and whether it is right to kill people.

‘Doesn’t that sound gloomy?!’ joked its director, former Opera House director Ian Stephens. ‘Aren’t I just really selling it?’
